As the development of economy and the improvement of people life, electricity power plays more and more important role in modern society. Nowadays, power is gained from power system. At first, power plants transfer other means of energy into power, power then come into substations through transformers and electric transmission line, at last used by people in daily life. In this process, we need supervision system which is accurate and reliable to monitor the quality and flow direction of power.However, the traditional power secondary equipment and supervision system have many disadvantages in rebuilding, maintaining and visualization. So, it is necessary to accomplish the standardization and accuracy of monitoring and maintaining of equipment in substations. The aim of research is to achieve the centralizing and standardization of monitoring and alarming of equipment in substations, shorter the time of maintaining the obstacles, lower the work strength, easier the management of equipment.The new automatic supervision system is configured in multi host distributed structure, star configuration network. The data in interval layer come into station control layer through Ethernet, then through the communication gateway machine in station control layer, to achieve the collecting, transmitting and downloading of scheduling data.The message in network based in IEC61850 standard. The system itself confirms the interoperability, safety, expandability and reliability of automatic controlling by using the techniques such as cross-platform, substructure and perfect multi-machine backup.The system also design a friendly and easy-using man-machine interactive, which contain functions used in the substations, to accomplish the supervision of all the equipment in substations.The actual operating shows that the new automatic supervision system can afford the need of digital substations perfectly, and design a good platform for the further development of intelligent substations in the future.
