The Automatic Test Device And System For The Residual Current Transformers

From of old until in now, the quality and efficiency have been two indexes for measuring the production level. It is an obvious truism that the test is very imporant for product quality assurance. The judgment and assurance for the quality of the products are not completed if they can not pass the test. The production efficiency also can not be increased without testing. In order to improve the production efficiency, the products must be passed the automatic test and carried out the intelligent test further. Residual current transformer is a transformer designed to detect residual current and it is also the core component of circuit breaker.With the development of the electricity grid system there is a great demand for the residual current circuit breakers, then the manufacturer must produce and test more and more new residual current transformers. But the traditional artificial test method has significantly constrained the production capacity of the residual current circuit breakers. Therefore, we must develop the intelligent testing technology to complete the automatic testing for the residual current transformers and reduce the human involvement to improve the test efficiency.Firstly, the paper introduces the principle of the residual current transformers and the characteristics of the residual current waveforms, confirmes the tested objects for the residual current transformers,provides the design principle of the automatic test device and system,studies the key technology.Then,it analysises the Micro Controller Unit(referred to as MCU) and the PC software programming technology. Next, it confirmes the C8051F020 as the core of the automatic test device and starts the PC software programming with Visual Basic 6.0.Secondly, it sets up the device’s hardware platform which is based on the Micro Controller Unit and completes the software programming with Visual Basic 6.0. Then, the automatic test device and system is completed with the debugging and trial studies and the main characteristics of the residual current transformers can be automatically tested.In this paper the automatic test device and system for the residual current transformers is designed and it shows that the Micro Controller Unit and Visual Basic 6.0 is suitable. And the test efficiency of the residual current transformers is improved. Also, the design process contributes to the development of more effective and complex test devices.Finally, the product prototype is applied to the practical testing work and the test efficiency of the residual current transformers is improved with the comparison of the traditional method. Also the quality level of the residual current circuit breakers is improved.
