The energy consumption level increased unprecedently with our country into a rapid development period of urbanization in a decade.The main form of energy consumption is coal burning, this form of energy supply not only have a low utilization rate,but also cause serious pollution to the environment.So since the 21st century, people gradually have focused on the ocean, and the long coastline and rich marine resources of our country provide favorable conditions for the development of tidal current energy.In recent years, many research institutions have been engaged in the research on high efficiency generation device driven by tidal current, the performance of the blade directly decide the efficiency of turbine capture energy.The optimization and design of blade, water dynamics research and experimental research of turbine is carried on in this paper based on the sea water velocity range in our country.Firstly,this paper summarized the current research situation of tidal current energy and determine the research direction:designing efficient blade in order to improve turbine performance. And puts forward a scientific and feasible research process through reading a lot of related literature domestic and overseas, including the analysis of the blade design theory and method of turbine manufacture and testing.Then, according to the research process, preliminary predict performance of the blade model generated through Wilson design method by Qblade software, and found that turbine power coefficient CP down significantly near the point of the rated conditions.For this kind of condition, the blade shape parameters is optimized by genetic algorithm method,and we found that performance is improved significantly after optimizing.Then,this paper studied turbine performance under different working conditions of different installation angle, change velocity and different blade number,and summarized the corresponding rules.Then, a shroud was screened for gathering energy from flow to adapt the low velocity our country’s sea water,the research found that turbine performance improved significantly after installing dome.Finally, designed a set of experiment device with small turbine model and made some relevant experiments for studying turbine performance impact factors on this device.The experimental results verified the validity of the blade design method and predictability of CFD numerical simulation, and a set of effective blade design method was summarized.
