Research On Landscape Composition And Function Of Boundary Space Of Residential Area Along The Street

With the improvement of people’s living standard, the requirement of living environment is higher. The boundary space of the residential area along the street is an important subsidiary of public space and it is the transition zone between residential area and land for urban roads. The usage in people’s daily is very high.Good boundary space will be convenient the life of people, promote the communication between people, provide leisure and reaction and so on. Therefore,studying the boundary of the residential area along the street is of great significance.The paper start from the relevant theoretical research at home and abroad, we can have some knowledge of current status. Then it explains the related concepts of boundary of the residential area along the street, clarifies the scope of the study,elaborates the characteristics and history evolution of the boundary of the residential area along the street. Use of relevant theory, the classification, construction factors,types of human activities and factors about the boundary of the residential area along the street can be analyzed.Taking Zhengzhou city residential area as the research object, selects 16 representative areas. According to the characteristics of boundary space, which can be divided into isolation protection, retail shops, the street view one-piece, and analyzes its development trend. According to the position of boundary space, they can bedivided into entrance space, street corner space, sidewalk widening space, street commercial space, simple isolation space. Surveying and analyzing the space structure, environmental facilities, the methods and rules of human activities in each type, we can understand the status of boundary of the residential area along the street in Zhengzhou. Meanwhile a questionnaire is conducted on the part public of Zhengzhou, then analysis the activity power source of citizens in boundary space.According to the survey results, summarizes the design principle and optimization strategies about the boundary of the residential area along the street, put forward six constructions of boundary space model, provides reference and basis for the future construction about the boundary space.
