The traditional wind turbine rated output voltage is low, about 690 V or so, send each wind driven generator AC are subject to a step-up transformer into the power grid, the structure of complex system. With the continuous progress of technology to achieve high voltage insulation material, power generation and grid connected wind turbines will become the future trend of development. This paper mainly to the new type of direct drive permanent magnet wind turbine generator as the research object,based on the design principle of Powerformer, Windformer and the conventional permanent magnet wind generator, combined with China’s insulation material development status and transmission, the voltage level of distribution network actual situation, using XLPE cable is used as stator windings, the transformation of traditional permanent magnet wind generator internal structure, increase the winding turns, the output voltage is improved, new type high pressure so as to design and research for power market in China, not a step-up transformer can be directly connected to the permanent magnet wind turbine generator.The 1.5MW/10.5kV rotor model carries on the preliminary design of direct drive permanent magnet wind generator main structure size, using the electromagnetic simulation software Ansoft Rmxprt is in the way of parameterized modeling and Simulation of the generator module design, the main magnetic field generator simplified analysis and operation characteristic curve, to determine whether the prediction results are consistent with simulation results, if the do not meet may continue to adjust the parameters, continuous optimization, find the best solution under the condition of same design. Secondly, the design scheme of the electromagnetic detailed calculation, get the high voltage permanent magnetic flux density of the main components of wind turbine and generator specific numerical attributes, once again to determine whether to meet the requirements of theconventional generator design technology in the design of permanent magnet synchronous generator, and further optimize the design. Finally, a two-dimensional model of generator in Ansoft Maxwelll environment, and the electromagnetic field of the generator under the condition of finite element analysis and calculation, including the simulation analysis of static load, rated load, asymmetric short-circuit fault conditions, the simulation of permanent magnet generator in the outlet end of sudden three-phase short circuit current of the impact of magnetic independent load generator,and solving the transient electromagnetic field, the electromagnetic field distribution of energy converter, verify the feasibility of the design.Electromagnetic calculation with Ansoft finite element simulation results show that, the pressure of direct drive permanent magnet wind generator design can meet the design requirements, the design scheme is feasible.
