The single-drum vibratory roller is the preferred compaction machinery for the construction of highways, airports, ports, DAMS, base-layer and time base-layer of industrial construction. At present, the single-pump with double-parallel-motors circuit is adopted as hydraulic driving system for most of the single-drum rollers in the market. The machine with such driving system often appears low efficiency,because of the slipping of steel wheel when the adhesion conditions changes under the condition of ramp or soft ground, sometime even can’t work normally. Therefore, the research of the new forms of driving system and key techniques for single-drum roller is of great importance.In this paper,the 18 t single-drum roller is regarded as the research object. The form of dual-pump independent driving hydraulic system is designed and researched. First of all, the main technical parameters of the domestic and foreign single-drum rollers are investigated and statisticted. Based on the problems existing in the current single-drum roller, the scheme of the dual-pump independent driving hydraulic system is put forward. The detailed principle of the system is described and the working principle diagram is drawn. Next, according to the functional requirements of driving hydraulic system, the system parameters are calculated and matched, and the main hydraulic components of the system are selected. The efficiency of the hydraulic system is calculated. The key control techniques are studied of driving hydraulic system, and the control method of synchronization problem of the front and back is put forward. At last, the system model is established by using the software of AMESim. The output characteristics of typical working conditions of the system is achieved through the simulation analysis. and the feasibility of the system is verified by the simulation results.
