With the increment of the comprehensive national strength, the speed of the transportation infrastructure increase quickly, and the construction of the tunnel is an important part of the transportation infrastructure. Due to most of the region locates in the areas of hilly and mountain, the necessary construction of the tunnel plays an important role in improving the efficiency of transportation. However,, due to large difference of surrounding rock mechanical properties during the process of tunnel construction, especially in some special circumstances, such as water, fault, as well as the weak surrounding rock and so on, it brings great difficulties to the construction of the tunnel. In this paper, based on the Jinpenwan tunnel, the effects of water properties on stability of surrounding rock in tunnel are studied. Firstly, the monitoring results of Vault subsidence, the stress of steel support and pressure of surrounding rock are analyzed. Secondly, based on the numerical simulation methods, the numerical model is established, the effects of permeability coefficient and void ratio for surrounding rock on the stability of surrounding rock in tunnel are studied. Finally, based on practical case of tunnel construction, the 3D numerical model is established, the subsidence of vault and arch foot, the convergence of hance and sidewall, and the pressure of surrounding rock in tunnel are studied by numerical simulation. The stability of surrounding rock is analyzed with water and without water environment. The numerical results are compared with the monitoring results. The rationality of numerical model is verified. It provides the help to the construction of tunnel in the similar engineering.
