Study On Urban Residents’ Travel Mode Choice Based On Green Transportation

With the sustained and rapid development of China’s urban economy, urbanization continues to accelerate, urban residents’ living standards continues to improve, traffic demand continues to increase. The result is that traffic congestion, environmental pollution, energy consumption and other problems occur frequently, the quality of urban residents’ living environment can not be guaranteed, it severely restricts the sustainable development of our society and economy such as haze phenomenon in most cities. Therefore, in order to develop urban green transportation and achieve "green travel", it is necessary to research on urban residents’ choice of green travel systematically.Firstly, the paper raised main research question based on analyzing the domestic and foreign scholars existing research results on urban green transportation and urban residents’ travel mode choice- study on urban residents’ travel mode choice based on green transportation, defined the concept of environmental sensitivity, and found out factors influencing urban residents’ green travel; secondly, the paper analyzed all factors using interpretative structural modeling method and investigated that the direct influence factors on urban residents’ green travel was travel distance, travel psychological demands, possession of transport vehicles, population characteristics, configuration and services of public transport; again the paper quantified the impact of factors influencing urban residents’ green travel and identified their degree of influence through built structural equation model; finally the paper took Xi’an for example and studied its urban residents’ choice of green travel to validate applicability and accuracy of the method. In this way, the paper ultimately come to the sensitivity of the urban environment has the greatest impact on urban residents’ green travel, possession of transport vehicles, configuration and services of public transportation and other factors also can not be ignored, and put forward relevant suggestions.The paper meet the real needs by studying urban residents’ travel based on green transportation and current situation of China’s city. The results of this research have a certain theoretical reference value and practical significance for the traffic manager.
