The flexible material, asphalt treated base, is widely adopted on the pavement material, in order to avoid the early stage distress of domestic asphalt pavement. Because of the good pavement performance and economy, ATB-30 as one of the asphalt treated base, is adopted on wide range. However it is large-stone asphalt mixes and its thickness is more than 10 cm on common. The problem how to effectively compact it should be concerned. In order to research the influence between the different grading evaluation parameters(CA Ratio) and the compaction properties, the compaction curve was plotted with the real-time observation data of the specimens. The specimens were made by Superpave Gyratory Compactor. The compaction properties of ATB-30 was evalued by K1,K2,CEI,TDI from compaction process. The result that the compaction properties of ATB-30 are best, when the CA ratio of Bailey method is 0.8, is obtained. From the Mesoscopic aspect, the inner composition and force bearing of ATB-30 were researched by Computed tomography scanning technology. At first the two-dimensional images matched different graduation were obtained though scanning the specimens. Then the void characteristic was obtained from the two-dimensional images of digital picture processing. The void distribution of specimens was evalued by different CA ratio with the quantity, equivalent diameter and voidage. The result showed that the void distribution of center section of specimen is homogeneous, and the void quantity of edge section of specimen is less. The compactness is poor.Established on the basis of scanned images of four different grading ATB-30 two-dimensional models, the result, which the mechanical properties that CA ratio is 0.8 is best, is obtained by using the finite element method to simulate the split test ATB-30. Based on the geometric characteristics data of the aggregate of Two-dimensional model, referenced design grading, re-establish the ATB-30 two-dimensional model with two different levels for simulated split test and found that the mechanical properties of the model is generally better than CT images scanned model, and particle size is between 2.36 mm and 4.75 mm has a great influence on the mechanical properties of ATB-30 mixture that CA ratio is 0.8.
