In the course of using the highway, there are a lot of serious early diseases. Massive investigations found that these early diseases are closely related to the construction quality of asphalt pavement, and the compaction technology is an important factor. Because of the limited research methods, the current research of the asphalt pavement compaction factors is focus on the materials of the mixture, but the research of compaction equipments and environment factors is exile. Therefore, combining to all the factors, based on the use of on-site inspection and laboratory test methods, this paper studies the compaction technology of asphalt pavement, and provides a basis for the improvement of asphalt pavement compaction technology.This study discusses the factors of the compaction of asphalt pavement, and detects the compaction effect under different thickness of the compaction layer, compaction temperature, rolling speed and model, using non-nuclear density gauge PQI. With the effect of the compaction on the core samples, this paper analyzes the reliability of the compaction using PQI, and then recommends the reasonable range of the compaction parameters of the asphalt mixture. On the basis of studying the compaction parameters, according to the results of detecting the compaction effect in and outside, using the effective compaction work and the compaction level as the measurement criteria, the research provides the compaction index of asphalt pavement, and analyzes the correlation of the asphalt pavement compaction index and the high temperature stability of mixture by using the immersion Hamburg wheel-tracking tests.According to the study of the compaction characteristics of different asphalt mixture, the results show that the compaction index can well reply the compaction characteristic of asphalt mixture, so this paper recommends the compaction index as a parameter to determining the compaction technology of asphalt pavement, and gives the compaction recommendation of the mixture of different nominal maximum particle size and different asphalt binder. In addition, on the base of the study on compaction technology of asphalt pavement, using digital image processing (DIP) technique and X-ray Computed Tomography system, the paper researches the internal microstructure of the asphalt mixture, and provides a method of using graphics parameters to quantify the compaction of asphalt pavement.The results of this study provide an effective method of the selection and quantify appraisal to the compaction technology, and have important practical significance to improving asphalt pavement compaction technology.
