Wind power is the world’s fastest-growing renewable energy. In China, wind power has great potential and develops rapidly, more and more large wind farms are constructed at sea and on land. But because of the randomness, intermittence and uncontrollability of wind power energy, the large-scale wind power integration may bring harmonic pollution to power grid, as well as voltage fluctuation and flicker, etc. To address the problem, some approaches have been put forward at home and abroad, such as hybrid wind- and hydropower, solar energy, diesel engine, storage system and other complementary energy system, in order to reduce and eliminate the bad influence on power grid.Compared to the above several kinds of complementary energy, gas power plants holds the advantages of quick start-stop and adjust speed, high efficiency as well as large capacity, etc. Wind power output fluctuation is mainly concentrated in the low frequency area(around 0.01 Hz) and intermediate frequency area(0.01 ~ 1 Hz), and power fluctuation between 1 Hz and 10 Hz is much less. The seconds’ level(dozens of seconds) fluctuations can be smoothed through the wind turbine control strategy in the wind farm. The slow fluctuation of minutes’ level and wind power prediction error can be balanced by gas power plant to achieve steady power output on the tie line. This dissertation firstly introduced the combined cycle power plant(CCPP) model built in RTDS(Real Time Digital Simulator) platform, several tests are run to prove its applicability. Then the coordinated control strategy of hybrid wind-CCPP energy system is studied and finally the case of power grid in Chongming Island is used to verify the effectiveness of the relevant control strategy.Through this project, the CCPP and three large-scale wind farms in Chongming Island can be treated as an equivalent power plant, in order to increase the energy utilization of renewable energy in the island, at the same time make the renewable energy more adjustable and controllable and reduce the influence on power grid scheduling caused by volatility of renewable energy.
