Research On Landscape Symbol Design In City Parks

With the rapid economic development, the number of city parks increasing quickly in our country. The development of the city is in the grip of an unprecedented crisis, such as environmental degradationand traffic jams. More serious problem is that urban park got lost in their characteristics, got assimilated increasingly and failed of passing on their long history culture of the city in the process of rapid development in cities.City park is the major form of urban landscape. It reflects the history and culture of one city.In the social background of “economic globalization”, the design and the characteristics of the urban park landscape got lost gradually. Underlying reason is that most designers blindly pursue“modernization” and “internationalization”, which results in a lot of city parks without any local characteristics. As the most attractive outer space of the city, the city park become the important place of urban recreation, entertainment, leisure and exchanges. The history shows that the origin of city parks is definitely not considering forany sort of purpose of authorities, but it is some kind of very practical use of requirements. City park not only enriches the city public space landscape,but also reflects the social attribute of a city and the residents’ way of life. In this context, the concept of urban park landscape symbol is put forward, and the semiotic theory and the theory of landscape is combined here. By employing various symbols, in the designation of landscape symbol, city parks with local characteristics and national culture were created. Therefore, this article mainly focuses on the theory of city park landscape symbols to start, then carries on the study on the the city park, the landscape design and the landscape symbol, and deeply analyzes the question of the modern city park landscape symbol, Significantly, In 2014, the author participate in the design of led by the teacher, the study takes the example of the construction of south lake park in hengyang city, Hunan province. Facing up to the sucessful cases in term of having landscape symbol in the city park of our country, it is easy to find that the relationship between the landscape symbols and the city park. Finally, the urban park design can get some reference and suggestion.
