When driving on the road, drivers getting road information mainly based on drivers’ visual sense. However, drivers may misperceive the curvature of road when driving through the section where horizontal curves combined with vertical curves. It may cause the wrong driving behaviors. In the past 20 years, many reports showed the driver’s misperception could bring safety problems to the driving. Therefore, in order to improve the safety of the vehicle traveling on the horizontal and vertical combination of sections, research from the angle of quantification on the driver’s misperception has important significance.Vehicles’ wheel path offset(Δh) and vehicle acceleration(a) are used in this paper to form the comprehensive index(Ha) in this paper. It’s used to explore the relationship between the road geometry parameters on the road section where horizontal and vertical curves combined and the driver’s misperception. Then the regression equations between road horizontal and vertical geometric parameters and the driver’s misperception are established. Considering the adverse weather conditions(fog, rain and cloudy), the relationship between the driver’s misperception and the road geometry parameters are also explored. So the regression equations are also established.Based on the 3D simulation software UC-win/road, the driving simulation is used in experiments. In this way the driver’s misperception in normal or adverse weathers are explored in quantitative research conditions. Analysis the relationship between the radius(R) longitudinal(I),turning angle(α),transition curve(Ls) and adverse weather and the driver’s misperception, the corresponding regression equations has been established. The optimum parameters of indicators in the analysis of orthogonal test and regression equations could be used in evaluate of the rationality in horizontal and vertical combination sections. Relying on the section of the Western Han Dynasty Xi’an high-speed 20 high accident combination section, the research results have been applied in engineering practice and get the bad section..
