Since the Wenchuan earthquake, the people impove their demand of the residential housing conditions, structural seismic performance is good or bad, green building, such as demanding higher, and the cold bending thin-wall steel housing system also get fast development. Split column as its main bearing component, both at home and abroad research about it is not enough. This article mainly aimed at testing analysis and theory research on the axially compression behavior of triple-lambs built-up open T section cold-formed steel columns. Specific work content is as follows:(1) The two split column width of the basic components of different axial compression experiment research, from the content of test, the specimen material, test equipment, test method, test process and results are detailed analysis and summary.(2) Using the finite element program ABAQUS nonlinear finite element simulation analysis was carried out on the axial compression specimens, the different unit simulation split column, knife hinge, and applying appropriate initial defects, will get the failure mode and limit bearing capacity of the finite element analysis and experimental results were analyzed. From that we know the finite element model is accurate. Then we use the finite element program analysis three main factors what effect the bearing capacity of the columns under pressure(the slendness ratio λ, the maximum width-thickness ratio of plate, basic components ratio and eccentric distance e).(3) According to the results of test and finite element simulation analysis, respectively according to the specification AISI and the specification(GB50018-2002) calculated in this paper, the bearing capacity of axial compression, bias of split columns, and the specification, finite element analysis of calculation and test results were analyzed.(4) According to the comparison of experiment, the finite element analysis results and the standard, using different methods of opening three limb T cold-formed thin-walled steel split column axial compression, bias, this paper discusses the calculation of bearing capacity, end up with a method that can be used for reference in the engineering design.
