With the rapid economic growth, our country investment and construction of transport infrastructure increases year by year. By the end of 2013, total mileage has reached 4.3562 million kilometers. Among of them the grade highway mileage has reached 3.7556 million kilometers; high-speed grade total mileage has reached 104,400 kilometers. Due to the increasing of road network coverage density, especially highway network coverage gradually become mature, attracting more and more people are using to drive or by car go out, and even long-distance travel.Compared with developed countries, for all grade roads the number of traffic accident occurred on the highway has remained at a relatively high level. After all statistical analysis of traffic accidents, traffic accidents are frequent always in one or several sections. These sections after investigation often within road or the next road speed changes larger sections. In order to improve these sections of road safety, research on the speed coordination of road is very needed. This paper summarized the analysis of the current speed coordination research both at domestic and abroad, has been clear about the speed of coordination related concept and theory, specific contents, representation method and evaluation standard. Then collection the relevant data and preliminary statistics, and then analyze the relationship between speed coordination and accidents. Jing jin tang highway was chosen to be a study subject, on the basic of existing research methods, utilizing the basic idea of ordered clustering method classifict previous section, then through the Hausman test to choose the appropriate panel data model and combining with STATA software regression analysis, fully reveal the relationship between speed coordination and traffic safety. According to the results of analysis, some effective measures were suggested and recommendations to improve the highway speed limit zone speed coordination.
