In recent years, the highway construction and the city road traffic has got rapid development, influenced by the topography. Skew girder bridge and curved beam bridge has been widely adopted because of the influence of topography. Laminated rubber bearing are widely used in these bridges due to its simple structure, convenient manufacture, low cost and many other advantages. But the mechanical characteristics of skew girder bridge and the curve beam bridge have many differences with straight bridge, they all have the extant coupled bending-torsional effect. These effects will have an adverse impact on the bridge, and many problems will appear because of various factors in the process of construction and operation, such as the bearing cavity, beam deflection, which will have a serious influence on the safe operation of the bridge.In this paper, based on the the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region traffic department science and technology project " research on the evaluation and detection of bridge bearing and replacement technology ", we conducts the research to the plate type rubber support design principle and the prevention measures for diseases of skew girder bridge of curve beam bridge. This paper introduces the design principle of rubber bearings and skew girder bridge both of the domestic and foreign, and the features of stress for skew girder bridges and curved girder bridges. With two bridges as the object of this research, we establish a whole bridge model by using the finite element software Midas civil, analyzing mechanical property of plate type elastomeric pad bearings for skew and curved beam bridge, and to get the influence degree of different factors on the performance of rubber bearing force and probable damage. With the adverse stress of skew and curved beam bridge plate rubber support, we use the finite element software Ansys and the regulation calculation method to analyse the bearing internal stress level, to get the deterioration mechanism of plate type elastomeric pad bearings. Study the distribution of bearing internal stress and the occurrence mechanism of various kinds of disease, to provide controlling and treatment measures for disease of plate type elastomeric pad bearings. Finally, combined with the finite element calculation results and causes of diseases of plate rubber bearing, we will put forward some control measures and specific treatment strategies plate type elastomeric pad bearings from design, construction, operation aspects of skew and curved beam bridge. After this, we not only improve the rubber bearing service life, but also to ensure the safe operation of the bridges.
