This text is principal based on aeolian sand of Yulin in Shanxi Province. According to the shaking table model test based on similitude law, we can study the stability of high fill embankment which is filled with aeolian sand under seismic load, thus regularity cognition is obtained. The major studies of this text are shown below:1. According to the characteristic parameters of the shaking table and experiment purpose, we design and manufacture the test box which is up to the mustard of the experiment, and validate the rationalization of the boundary condition of the simulation of the test box by comparing the test box with model soil about natural frequency we can find some difference, thus we can avoid the affection of the experimental results which is produced by the test box.2. We design and manufacture the test box, and choose transducers in line with their sorts, models and layout methods, as well as choose appropriate earthquke wave, work out a programme, and figure out the experiment process.3. We perform a thoroughgoing stability analysis by obtaining the results of the experiments. And it comprises acceleration analysis, displacement dynamic response, seismic wave analysis, acceleration amplitude, slope ratio of models and so on.4. According to the experimental phenomena and experimental data, we analyze the destructive process and failure model of the embankment models.5. Althought we can complete that experiment and reach the goal of the experiment, even draw a conclusion, due to the uniqueness of failure experiments and dispersion of experimental results. It is circumscribed to apply the conclusion directly to actual engineering. The stability of the high fill embankment under seismic load in desert areas still has a long way to go, but this text provides a kind of research method and theory for later research works.
