With the development of industry and economy, the demand for electric power is also increasing. And the development of the country largely depends on the development of the power industry. In some countries whose state grid construction is imperfect, it is important to make sure the single generator unit is in stable and safe operation mode. The steam turbine is the most critical part of the generator unit so that reliability of its emergency trip system attracts more and more attention.Based on the project of Shanghai Turbine Plant- super critical l600 MW single rotor condensing reheat steam turbine, triple redundant emergency trip system was designed by deeply mastering the intelligent hardware performance and absorbing the key design of emergency trip system.Firstly, after extensive reading, the comprehensive and systematic discussion and description of turbine emergency trip system are given. By analyzing the process and principle of emergency trip system, control requirement and performance target of emergency trip system were proposed form the processing point of view. these formed the firm bases of the design scheme and architecture of triple redundant emergency trip system.Secondly, according to the control requirement and technological process, the control principle of turbine emergency trip system was analyzed.Combined with the situation of the power plant project and GMR hardware features, software platform was adopted to complete the configuration of triple redundant emergency trip system hardware and software.Use fault tree method to analyze and compare the reliability andavailability of the dual and triple redundant emergency trip system and theresult shows that the triple redundant emergency trip system has advantages for safe and stable operation of the turbine.Finally, the simulation and test results are analyzed and according to the test results improve design. The plant operation prove that the triple redundant emergency trip system meets design requirements and successfully implement correct control on different conditions and rapid response to emergency situations. In other word the design of the triple redundant emergency trip system is reasonable and available and reliable.
