Sheet metal stamping is an important method of metal plastic forming and it plays a pivotal role in the automotive industry. About 70% of auto parts are obtain ed by the sheet metal stamping. Aluminum sheet are increasingly being adopted with the development of automobile lightening. There are many factors affecting the quality of the aluminum alloy sheet metal stamping, such as mold surface parameters and stamping process parameters.An automotive aluminum alloy part is researched in this paper. Aluminum sheet metal forming limit diagram is drawn using the method of finite element. The law of multiple factors on the quality of aluminum alloy sheet metal stamping is studied. Then the corresponding experimental stamping is operated. Concrete research contents are as follows:1. In view of the present, drawing aluminum sheet metal forming limit diagram by test costs a lot of time and material. This paper attempts to draw aluminum alloy sheet metal forming limit diagram by making use of the finite element numerical simulation method and selecting the appropriate forming limit rule. Through the experiment, the forming limit diagram satisfies the application requirement.2. An evaluation which considers fracture, wrinkling and thinning is set up in this paper, which can reflect aluminum alloy sheet metal forming quality.3. In this paper, an automotive aluminum alloy part can get a better forming quality through the meth od of finite element numerical simulation. Then study the law of different process parameters which affecting the quality of stamping, especially the influence of friction on the forming quality of stamping. The study found that the total friction time bec omes larger with the molding. The friction force of the nodes in thinning area show that the force decreases first and then increases. The friction force of the nodes in wrinkle area change irregularly.4. BP neural network is used in this paper to plot th e feasible formabilit y diagram in aluminum alloy sheet stamping based on the results of numerical simulation. It can well evaluate the quality of sheet metal forming process parameters value area. And an artificial intelligence optimization model has been established based on orthogonal experimental data, and using the model to obtain optimum process parameters.The stamping of the automotive aluminum alloy part realizes to set the stamping process predicatively and scientifically, to shorten the mold prod uction time and to save sheet metal. Therefore, the study has a certain application value in saving material, reducing the enterprise cost and improving stamping production efficiency.
