Healthy people can drive a vehicle to reach their desired destinations, but it is difficult for some people with severe neuromuscular disorders to drive the vehicle. Brain-controlled vehicle provides a possible way for these people to drive a vehicle. Brain-controlled vehicle is controlled by the “mind” of drivers directly. Vehicle dynamics, ergonomics, information and control science, brain and neuroscience and other subjects are involved in the research of Brain-controlled vehicles. Considering that unmanned vehicle technology tends to mature, this paper first proposed a destination selection system based on the hybrid BCI(Brain Computer Interface) using P300 and SSVEP(Steady State Visual Evoked Potential). Then, we conducted the experiments to evaluate the performance in virtual reality environment and explored the possible factors that may influence the performance. To confirm the feasibility of working efficiently in real world, we further conducted the experiment in real world and evaluated the performance. This paper mainly research on the performance of the destination selection system based on BCI and effects of the environment factors on the destination selection system. The main research contents include: the destination selection system based on the hybrid BCI using P300 and SSVEP, the performance of the destination selection system and effects of the environment factors on the destination selection system. The paper is organized as follows.Chapter 1 is introduction. In this part the meaning of the research is exposed and the development of the research is analyzed. There are also many questions to be solved. The purpose and content of the research is depicted in this part.Chapter 2 brings in the concept of destination selection system based on brain computer interface. Signal collection, processing methods, pattern recognition and flow chart of the system is described. Chapter 2 lays the theory foundation for the later chapters and smooth going of the experiments.Chapter 3 describes the experiments. Paradigm of the stimuli, experiment devices and experiment design is depicted. Experimental data are collected for processing to obtain experiment results.Chapter 4 describes the results of the experiment, which include the performance of the system and effects of the factors. Light intensity and noise intensity are analyzed in detail.Chapter 5 is conclusion and future work. We summarize the conclusion of the research and the meaning in practical application. Insufficiency in this research and future research area are also pointed out.
