With the structure become more and more high, light and flexible, typhoon load is a decisive role, but the confirm of wind load is very complex and difficult. Before calculate the wind load on the structure, we should study the basic characteristic of wind. Based on the long time field measured data record respectively from three-dimensional velocity components above the ground in Qiongzhou Strait bridge site during landfall of typhoon from2012 to 2014, this paper observed the wind parameters such as mean wind speed, direction,attack angle, power law index, turbulence intensities, gust factor and wind speed spectrum based on the field measurements results. This paper also taken 36 measured data of typhoon wind speed and rainfall from monitoring system of Qiongzhou Strait bridge site, and nearly30 years data of extreme wind speed and rainfall from Chengmai Station. The bivariate joint probability distribution of wind speed and rainfall based on copula function are carried out and the fitting results are compared respectivelySpecific research contents and achievements include:(1)This paper presrnted the background, objective, signification, and present research state at home and abroad of both wind-induced oscillation and bivariate joint probability distribution of wind speed and rainfall.(2)The instrument used for observing the typhoon characters and the actual typhoon process observation in this paper are presented here.(3)Based on the data of typhoon of ‘Ramasum’ land on Qiongzhou Straite bridge site, the paper analyzed the wind parameters such as mean wind velocity, directions, attack angle,power law index, turbulence intensities, gust factor and wind speed spectrum based on the field measurements results.(4) Based on the data of typhoon from 2012-2014, the paper established the probability distribution of some wind parameters and analyzed the correlation between them.(5) This paper taken the data of typhoon wind speed and rainfall from monitoring system of Qiongzhou strait bridge site, and nearly 30 years data of extreme wind speed and rainfall from Chengmai Station. The bivariate joint probability distribution of wind speed and rainfall based on copula function are carried out and the fitting results are compared respectively. And analyzed the marginal probability distribution and joint probability distribution. The design values of joint return periods and co-occurrence periods of wind speed and the rainfall could be used bound in engineering design.
