With the rapid development of social economic level and automobile industry, there are an increasing number of private cars, causing the traffic delay and wasting social productive forces. How to relieve the current situation of traffic jam and improve the operating efficiency of traffic and transportation system has become the burning problem around the world. It has significance to make use of current resource, design efficient traffic signal optimal control strategy and extremely give play to the traffic efficiency.On the basis of the study on traffic signal control system, this thesis combined with the development demand and technical feature of modern urban transportation, established traffic flow model and delay model of arterial traffic system and went into the optimization of traffic signal coordinated control. The main tasks are as follows:Firstly, through the analysis on the crowding urban traffic situation, the thesis explained the research background and significance of this project and summarized the development status of traffic coordinated control system at home and abroad, stating the necessity of research on traffic coordinated control.Secondly, by the study on basic theory of artery system coordinated control, this thesis explicated the control purpose of artery system and established the delay model of traffic artery control system. The author divided the total delay into one-way green-wave control delay model, two-way green-wave control delay model, trunk line delay model and minor artery by bringing in variation coefficientWhat’s more, aiming at the features of the delay model of traffic artery control system, the author put forward weighted Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO) based on the historical optimal position, quoted historical optimal information in arithmetic and shared good resource. The thesis also proved that the arithmetic is able to improve the performance of traditional PSO by test function and improved rate of convergence, preventing from falling into locally optimal solution.At last, taking main artery in the city of Qin Huangdao as an example, the author gathered real information and data on road, optimized the model taking advantage of weighed PSO of historical optimal position proposed in this thesis. The simulation result indicated that the timing plan prominently reduced the delay time of artery, improved through efficiency and got great effect.
