In order to improve the dynamic property and the fuel economy of vehicle, the engine uses electronic throttle technology. Electronic throttle is used to control the amount of air into the cylinder, so as to adjust the output torque of engine. Obviously, whether electronic throttle can be in accordance with the torque demand to adjust its opening in real-time and accurately and fast has become an important index to measure the quality of the electronic throttle system. Therefore, electronic throttle control issue attribute to its tracking position with high accuracy and high dynamic quality. in this thesis, the electronic throttle precision tracking control problem is studied.In view of the existing intrinsic nonlinear characteristics of electronic throttle and the actual operation of the process parameter variations and external disturbance phenomenon, we study the sliding mode control technique based on exponential terminal sliding mode surface. In order to further accelerate the response speed of the system, the terminal sliding mode controller using terminal reaching law. In MATLAB/Simulink environment, the simulation model of the control system is established to validate the terminal sliding mode controller’s effect.Aiming at the control law’s chattering phenomenon when terminal sliding mode controller is used to control the electronic throttle, studies second order sliding mode control technique based on the linear sliding surface.The stability of the system is proved by using phase plane analysis method. Using the same conditions with teminal sliding mode control, in the MATLAB/Simulink environment, the simulation result of second order sliding mode controller is given, and compare with terminal sliding mode controller’s effect.In order to verify the actual control effect on electronic throttle of terminal sliding mode controller and second order sliding mode controller, based on d SPACE hardware in loop simulation platform is established, and the calibration the experimental platform. Under closed loop experimental conditions, identify the parameters of system model using the least squares identification algorithm. Based on the electronic throttle identification model, verify terminal sliding mode controller and second order sliding mode controller’s conrtlo effect respectively on experiment platform.
