Explosive magnetic flux compression generator(FCG) is a single used device, which can convert chemical energy into electromagnetic energy. The research on FCG simulation device provides a very effective and reliable method to reduce the cost of experiments. And it is of great value for the practical applications of FCG. In this paper, two schemes of FCG simulation device are proposed. One is multi switches delay triggering FCG simulation device scheme, and the other is single switch LC network FCG simulation device scheme. Theoretical analysis, circuit simulation and gray relation grade analysis of the two simulation devices are carried out. The single switch LC network FCG simulation device is developed and driving load experimental studies are carried out.First of all, the feasibility of the multi switches delay triggered FCG simulation device scheme is analyzed. This device is consisted of high voltage pulse capacitor; multi-channel gas spark gap switches and inductors. The switches are controlled by a multi-path time delay high voltage trigger. The gray relation grade analysis shows that high comparability of the simulated current waveform and the actual current waveform can be achieved with careful design of parameters. The analysis also indicates that the jitter of switches have little influence on the characteristic of the FCG simulation device output pulse. The scheme of multi switches delay triggering FCG simulation device is feasible.Then, the structure of single switch LC network FCG simulation device is introduced. This device is consisted of high voltage pulse capacitor, gas spark gap switches, LC network and inductive load. Suitable parameters of these components are set according to the theoretical analysis, Pspice circuit simulation and gray relation grade analysis. An experimental device of the single switch LC network FCG simulation device is constructed. The primary experimental studies are carried out. The experimental results demonstrated that the simulated current waveform and the actual current waveform have upper comparability of curve in rising phase when the load inductor is 2.6 μH. The theoretical analysis and experimental results show that the simulated current waveform is consistent with the actual current waveform in the rising phase when the inductive load changes between 2 μH and 4 μH.Finally, the proposed single switch LC network FCG simulation device is employed to drive an intense relativity electron beams accelerator in the laboratory. The experimental results are consistent with the theoretical calculation result, and the repeatability of the FCG simulation device is good. The FCG simulation device can run stably and reliably. Therefore, the scheme of the single switch LC network FCG simulation device is feasible.
