Formation flying satellite is currently one of the focuses being studied in the domain of domestic and overseas spaceflight, Formation flying satellites are near each other, requiring a high accuracy orbit control. So relying on traditional radio carrier measurements, it is difficult to meet formation flying satellites orbit determination requirements. With the technological development, some research institutes focus on using GPS technologies for formation flying satellites navigation.Based on the relative motion of formation flying satellites, this thesis discussed the two typical satellites flying in formation using GPS technologies for Navigation.1. Design formation flying satellites navigation using GPS. GPS provides formation flying satellites with centimeter relative position. Tens of nanoseconds time information.2. Analyze absolute GPS positioning error. By the analysis, using the GPS can provide 6cm high precision relative position measurement, can meet the precision requirement of the relative time of formation flying satellites.3. Discusses position or relative position. This establish the equation of state parameter and the Kalman filter algorithm, estimation of absolute and relative positioning of the filter equation.4. The simulation of navigation for formation flying satellite using GPS. This system mainly GPS signal simulation, analyses based on GPS simulator output value and theoretical value, comparing the calculation results.
