Large-scale interconnected grid is used to achieve large-scale energy base to efficiently develop and utilize wind, solar and other clean energy, which can promote optimally adjustment energy structure, accelerate air pollution and achieve energy conservation. Digital simulation is usually utilized to analyze the operating characteristics of large-scale power grid, which including electromechanical transient simulation for research on grid overall stability and electromagnetic transient simulation for study of local grid dynamic characteristics such as overvoltage calculation, protection configuration and DC power electronic switching device characteristics. However, power system data is mainly record as electromechanical transient simulation format and electromagnetic transient simulation data is quite poor. Therefore electromechanical transient data needs to be converted to electromagnetic transient data. Aimed at the problem, the method of converting PSASP electromechanical transient data to PSCAD electromagnetic transient data was proposed in the thesis. PSASP to PSCAD conversion software was developed and applied to the practical project which reducing the workload and improves the accuracy of the conversion to a large extent. The main work and conclusions in this paper were as follow:Firstly, feasibility of model conversion was checked in power flow and dynamic models. The psc file was chosen to realize the model conversion. For the common models of PSASP and PSCAD such as generators, transformers, transmission lines, load and compensation, the conversion could be achieved by parameter comparison and mathematical equivalence calculation. The conversion parameters was filled in the corresponding field of the psc file and electromagnetic transient simulation model could be automatically generated.Then for some PSASP models which lack in PSCAD such as the excitation system, PSS and governing system of generator control system, the method of combining Implicit Trapezoidal Integration and FORTRAN was raised to create PSCAD custom models. The first-order linear links in power system were sequentially solved. After that, the common and new model were respectively established and verified. Finally reusable PSCAD user model library was formed.In the end, PSASP to PSCAD conversion software was developed based on the above study which can convert PSASP electromechanical transient model to PSCAD electromagnetic transient model. Force-oriented algorithm was applied to realize the automatic connection and intelligent layout of conversion model electrical topology. Software application was illustrated combing the Grid actual case. Ultimately the software was employed in a Chongqing 220 k V station. The electrical topology and power flow of the conversion model were successively tested and then dynamic characteristics was verified according to the short-circuit fault inferred from the recorded waves.
