Deployable structure is a new type of foldable system which is developed in recent years. It usually has remarkable characteristics as follows: portable structure, variety of forms, easy to fold and unfold, it has been widely used in aerospace and new construction field. In the present thesis, a systematic geometrical design method is put forward for the deployable curtain walls by rotating and folding, and a detailed analysis method is presented for its mechanical behavior during the process of folding and unfolding.From the point of the features of deployable structure, this thesis introduces a new concept of deployable structure in detail, and classifies it according to the different division standard. The paper introduces the applications of shade screens and retractable roof structure in deployable structure, and then combines the deployable structure and principle of origami, expounds their close relationship.By considering the construction functional and aesthetic requirements, a deployable curtain wall by rotating and folding is put forward in this thesis, and the structure size is determined combined with practical engineering. Establishes the overall coordinate system, and analyzes the structure geometrical characteristics, including the spreading way, spreading principle, expansion ratio and space envelope, etc. And the 2d and 3d coordinate formula of each point in the structure is deduced. Taking a substructure for example, analyses the motion state of the structure. The folding process is divided into two steps, the vertical folding and the level of folding, and the trajectory equation of each point in the substructure is deduced. By calculating the crack spacing between adjacent substructure in folding process, we can get the motion law of the overall structure.Finally, using the ANSYS software for finite element simulation of the deployable curtain wall by rotating and folding. The static analysis of the structure under the action of the gravity load has done in four states, the full-scale state, the vertical folding intermediate state, the vertical folding completion state and the level folding completion state. Choosing 25 different state during the folding process, we can get the rope tension of the six control points in different states, combines with the trajectory of this six control points, which provides the mechanical analysis foundation for deformation control and safety control during the structural service period.
