Almost 80% time of human’s whole life will spent in indoor environment, so whether the indoor air environment is good or not will directly affect human’s comfort, health and work efficiency. Recently, with the development of highly industrialized society, the problem of indoor air pollution is getting more serious, and now has become a human health stealth killer.This is the current hot issues of the world governments and people of common concern.This article will study for the indoor air quality of civil-unit dwellings.First intruduced the species and major source of indoor air pollutants, then summarizes the current indoor air quality reasearch in different ways.Numerical simulation methods have a great advantage on predicting the distribution of indoor pollutants,air flows, which can save time and money than the experimental methods. However,there are very few simulation applications of indoor air flow for the whole buildings espectionally for the civil-unit dewllings at home and abroad.The internal air flow characteristics of complex multi-room are lack of research. Dissemination mechanism of indoor pollutants and flow propagation in the air remains to be determined.Therefore, this article uses computional fluid dynamics to simulate the distribution of indoor air flow and pollutants concentration. Chose a newly renovated civil-unit dwelling form Harbin to research, set different indoor and outdoor conditions. Chose formaldehyde as Indoor pollutants for an example.Simulate in different circumstances,such as the in the room without pollution, there is a uniform distribution of pollutants indoor, the constant release rate sources of pollution in the room, there are dynamic release sources exist indoor and so on. The results of important data like indoor velocity field, temperature field, pollutant concentration field, ventilation efficiency, pollutant removal efficiency, etc, were compared for effective control and evaluation of indoor air quality. This topic get the residential interior air flow characteristics and pollutant emissions law further through the simulation means.The conclusions provide a basis for the actual architectural to improve indoor air quality control measures and means which can play a guiding significance on architectural design, indoor ventilation strategies and contaminant exclusion control.
