In China, there are some heating regions in one city. There are heat-supply systems with single-heat source or multi-heat sources in every region. With the expanding of heating scale and the improvement of heating quality, economy and reliability of heat-supply system become more and more important. Urban centralized heat-supply systems should be developed from single-heat source to multi-heat sources, from tree-shaped network to the ring-shaped network, because of the advantage of ring-shaped network with multi-heat sources system in economy and reliability.Therefore, how to design the network and locate heat sources are important. The proper connection method between heat-supply systems should be enhanced to improve the economy and reliability.The optimal position of heat sources was studied. A economical analysis model was established to analyze the influence to the first cost and operation cost when the position of heat source was changed. The principle of setting heat sources is a condition of the connection method research.The connection method between district heat-supply systems was studied when the position of heat sources were not changed The main method of connection is setting interconnecting pipe. Under the existing conditions, some cases satisfied the limited-heating coefficient could be found by changing position and number.Based to the requirement of limited-heating, a mathematical model of connection method between ring-shaped heat-supply systems with multi-heat sources was established. The limited-heating coefficient, pressure bearing capacity of pipeline,heating capacity of heat source, operating parameters of circulating pumps were used as boundary conditions, and the minimum consumption of transmission energy of heat sources was considered to be the objective function. By grid analysis method, a topology structure model was established to illustrate the calculation process of the model mathematical. Then, the calculation flow chart is given. Using the mathematical model, feasibility of connection method between the heat-supply systems can be analyzed. The optimal connection case was obtained.
