In recent years, the rapidly increasing number of car bring great pressure to traffic. The emergence of Intelligent Transportation System(ITS) can effective solve the problem such as road congestion, environment pollution which caused by the heavy traffic. The Vehicle Detect System based on the wireless sensor net is a useful application of the ITS,which is low-cost, low consumption and precise detection. It becomes popular in the field of vehicle detection.The paper introduces a wireless vehicle detection system based on magnetic from the perspective of a product application. Content mainly includes the following several parts:Firstly, analysis of the present situation and the tendency of the ITS is introduced, with comparing the existing technology on vehicle detection, such as ultrasound detection, infrared detection, geomagnetism detection, video recognition, etc, the earth magnetic detection is very suit for vehicle detection in our system. Together with the high precision AMR sensor and the Zig Bee wireless networks which is low power consumption and ad hoc networks, the wireless vehicle detection system based on magnetic can collect the traffic information, transfer and save traffic data and analysis the traffic.According to the different requirement of detection frequency, the dynamic monitoring method and static monitoring method are put forward separately. The former using collected signal to analysis vehicle information, and extract the characteristics of the vehicle by the method named Peak-Valley. With the process result, it can distinguish the passing vehicle. After post processing, we can obtain the traffic flow, vehicle speed and other information. The static monitoring method mainly applied in some place with little change like parking lot in a way similar to shockproof principal. After the experiment, it proved that the algorithm can run normally and has a high precision.In order to test the project, we built the Vehicle Test Platform(VTP) which includes terminal nodes, routing nodes, and the coordinator node. Vehicle detection network platform based on Web Service is designed for the user access the vehicle detection system through the network(such as a browser), which displays VPA running status. Through this platform, the system can make client acquire traffic information more conveniently.Intelligent transportation system is in a period of rapid development, traffic problem urgently prompted people to use technology to improve life experience. This article research results is helpful for solving traffic problems. On the one hand, management can analysis and make decision with more data for reference, on the other hand, ordinary people convenient to get ahead road consulting and planning travel routes in advance. So the research project has important social significance and broad application prospects.The Wireless Vehicle Detection System based on Magnetic work well in the test platform. However, there is still lots of work left consequent researchers to study deeply and improve.
