Since ancient times, the earthquake had brought a heavy blow to the development of human survival. Since our country is in a n earthquake-prone belt, all previous earthquake had serious damage to production and construction in our country and the people’s life. So it is of great significance to do good job in shockproof structure.Steel structure building is one kind of new building types. And steel structure has many advantages, such as light weight and high strength, good in seismic performance, quick in construction speed, the material can be recycling used. So steel construction had been more and more used in C hina and other countries. Steel fame is quick in construction speed, and the component of it has good ductility, but is week in lateral stiffness. So steel frame often need larger component cross section to satisfy in certain seismic requirements. The steel frame with center support solve the problem that shortage in lateral forth resistance of pure steel frame. But center support is prone to buckling instability in severe earthquake, make the seismic resistance of structures sharply drop. In order to solve the above problems, engineering personnel designed the steel frame with buckling constraint support. Not only buckling constraint support improved the lateral stiffness of the steel framework, and also absorbed seismic energy in severe earthquake. And buckling constraint support is hard to be buckling, add another seismic line for the construction. So buckling constraint support can be the fuse of the construction, and greatly improving the aseismatic performance of the building.This paper use finite element analysis software ANSYS14.0 to contrast the seismic performance between ordinary center support and buckling constraint support, and use finite element analysis software ETABS to comparison and analysis seismic performance between ordinary steel frame, center support steel frame and buckling constraint steel frame. There are mainly two work to do. the first is to compare the performance of the support bar. This work need to build the finite element model of ordinary center support and buckling constraint support in finite element analysis software ANSYS, to do elastic stability analysis, one-way load analysis and hysteresis analysis of them. The second work is to build a model of a three spans ten layers steel frame in the engineering finite element software ETABS, to contrast the seismic performance among ordinary steel frame, center support steel frame and buckling constraint steel frame, to analyze and summarize the results. Finally, this paper look forward to the future development of the new kind earthquake-resistant structure, in order to have some help in engineering practice and theoretical study.
