Reinforced concrete frame structure is a common structural system in current structure form. which is composed of beams and columns.Seismic design principles of frame structure in Chinese code is “strong column and weak beam”, but large earthquake damage data show that frame column always precedes frame beam damage.According to survey and experimental research,an important cause of the unrealized yield mechanism is that contribution of cast slab to bending bearing capacity of frame beam is not considered in reason.so effect of cast slab on frame beam should be considered in reason in seismic design of the frame structure. Effect of cast slab on frame beam is a worth research.With finite element software(FEM) SAP2000, frame structure model with slab was modeled and analyzed. By contrast with load-displacement curve, the validity of the FEM modeling analysis was verified. Based on the current specification, two reinforced concrete frame structures, one is considering the floor slab and the other is not, were designed, finite element modeled and Pushover analyzed, yield mechanism difference between two models was analyzed, and influence law of cast slab to yield mechanism was analyzed. Though finite element analysis, effect of thickness of slab, height of frame beam and moment augment factor of column on deformation, destruction pattern and failure mechanism of frame structure were studied. The result shows that thickness decrease of slab, height reduction of frame beam and moment augment factor of column enhanced make against realization of “strong column and weak beam” mechanism. For space frame structure with slab, opening different sizes of the hole on slab to analysisrange of effective flange width. Reasonable value of beam end effective flange width is6 based on tension equivalent, it can be reference for reinforced concrete frame structure design.
