Application Research Of Landscape Narrative In Urban Landscape

As the exterior expressive configuration of the physical environment and the social life in the city,urban landscape should satisfy the “function and form” and should also tell story. Introducing the landscape narrative into urban landscape design, focusing on human factors experience can rich the connotation of landscape and improve quality of urban landscape.The paper stood on the previous studies and design practices of landscape narrative, using the system analysis and comparison method, design case studies method, the site investigation and analysis method,design practice method and so on. With the four narrative levels for foundation, author presents some application methods and strategies of landscape narrative about the urban landscape by researching the experience process of the experiencer and the design process of the designer.First, Through analyzing and combing the research status and development situation at home and abroad to clarify the purpose and significance of research. further make clear correlation techniques and research methods and describe the elaborated framework of the overall structure and content of the paper. the main concepts of landscape narrative and related concepts are clearly introduced.Secondly, through the research on landscape narrative of the process experience, we summarize aesthetic experiences into four ways: scene-mode, rhetoric type, Sequentially, enlightenment. Put forward four evaluation principle as basis of good ness of urban landscape design: meet the multiple senses, communicate the spirit of place, forming a continuous emotion, convey landscape connotation, and give a investigation to test and enrich the conclusions.Again, with four implication of expression and four evaluation principles as a starting point, some application methods and strategies: determining and the connotation of landscape, Site Planning and streamline layout, combining site unit and the secondary landscape connotation, order orchestration, embodies the spirit of place, the concept materialized, and verified through the design practice.Finally, summarizing the methods and strategies, advocate localization concept should be introduced into landscape narrative.
