The Research On The Method Of Environmental Cognition Oriented Narrative Landscape Design

The landscape can become an important carrier to tell stories. This paper, from the perspective of environmental cognition as a starting point, based on the theory of environmental cognition and narrative landscape design, to study the method of narrative landscape design. By analysis and summary of numerous examples and summarizing the literature, referring to the narrative methods and means in the literature and drama, we summed up the design methods based on the level of public perception, for a better understanding of the landscape connotation. The narrative landscape design methods are provided to designers and it helps to provide methods and ideas for the lack of significance of current landscape design.This article is divided into three parts.The first part is the first two chapters, which mainly expounds the research background, concept development and related theoretical basis, domestic and international research status of landscape narrative methods, and technical route. At the same time, the author also studied the related concepts and theoretical basis of landscape narrative and environmental cognition.The second part is the two chapters. First to classify subject of landscape, analyzes the perception of landscape subject and the psychological cognitive factors, research the interaction between subject and object and the way of their behavior, construct the environmental cognition oriented narrative landscape design theory, and then from positioning landscape theme, the arrangement of spatial order, the description of the contents of the landscape and the creation of landscape intent four aspects, expressed the design based on the level of the public’s perception. During turning narrative contents into landscape language by designers, as the target of information transmission, the subject of perception is the ultimate party receiving information. The ability to accept of the subject of perception plays a decisive role in effectiveness and quality of the transmitting.Finally, some research about how to design better narrative landscape based on the level of the public’s perception are summarized by the practice analysis of the "Cultural Landscape Garden Design in Zhang Wan District, Shi Yan City".Generally speaking, the paper is based on narrative landscape, combined with the public’s experience of psychological behavior, and studies expression of the narrative landscape. The paper has reference value on the modern landscape design.
