With the increasingly development of economy and urbanization, light bus market requirements are increasing year by year. At the same time, hybrid technology is maturing, and the high power motor, as well as large capacity battery technology, is developing rapidly. All these circumstances make a firm base for the blossoming of the electric car industry. For the first time, pure electric light bus is included in the list of subsidies for new energy in the new policy which comes out in 2014.Relying on the policy background, Suzhou Green Control Transmission Technology Co., Ltd establishes projects aiming at researching and developing the light bus AMT(Automatic Mechanical Transmission) system which centers on gearshift mechanism designing. And this paper, based on the pure electric bus, is to develop and design gearshift mechanism, and to analyze the quality of gearshift mechanism through simulation and test methods.Firstly, the paper analyzes the driving characteristics of the internal combustion engine and motor power to determine the types of motor power and mechanical transmission according to the basic parameters and performance requirement of the bus, and systematically introduces the AMT system of the pure electric light bus. Secondly, the design of the gearshift mechanism of AMT is accomplished, as well as the modeling of different parts of the shift mechanism with the help of Pro/E, and the corresponding 2D drawings by Auto Cad.Thirdly, the evaluation indexes of the shift mechanism of the AMT of pure electric light bus is determined, and with the help of pure electric simulation model Matlab/Simulink, the shifting behavior of the AMT system is analyzed in three cases: ECE, typical working conditions in Chinese cities, and accelerating process.Finally, the physical shift mechanism is matching with the mechanical transmission, which makes a series of tests possible: bench test, vehicle test. This contributes to the validation of the rationality of design, and the reliability of function, which play important roles in promoting the mass production of the gearshift mechanism and the research of reliability of AMT system.
