With the development of the electric vehicle industry, high-power drive motors and its control methods are often applied to electric vehicles. The efficient electric vehicle drive system as well as its key technologies has always been a key focus nowadays. In the transmission chain of electric vehicles, the introduction of Automatic Transmission System (ATS), not only can the working efficiency of the drive motor be substantially improved but also the labor intensity of the driver and the performance of electric vehicles. Since with a number of advantages such as simplicity, easy maintenance, cost-effectiveness and high transmission efficiency. Automatic Mechanical Transmission (AMT) is thus well-suited to being the direction of development for the electric vehicle drive system in China.From this paper, it can be seen that the pure electric bus, AMT, builds upon the design and control strategy of the shifting mechanism. The main body of my paper will include:(1) The necessity of applying Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) to electric vehicles.The analysis on the status and background of domestic and international automatic shifting technology and the key technical problems of AMT shifting with electric vehicles is thereby set up to clarify the research aim.(2) The features of AMT automatic transmission system and the design of the shifting mechanism.To analyze the composition and structure of AMT automatic transmission system, the paper is intended to elaborate how to select the ratio of transmission gear and study the effect of decelerating the rotation speed to multiply the torque, according to the control principle of shift actuator.(3) Research on the shifting process of AMT automatic transmission system-aimed at actuator control in the shifting process, model building and analyzing on the controlled objects within the shifting process, as well as making use of the model to predict the shifting process.(4) Vehicle testing and debugging for AMT shifting mechanism.The last part is mounting the automated transmission system onto a pure electric bus for vehicle testing. By analyzing the data of the shifting process, the reliability and impact of shifting control and shifting speed have explicitly verified the accuracy of the automatic transmission shift control strategy, which is aligned to the test result in terms of the international reference values. The paper mainly analyzes the operational characteristics of pure electric buses using Automatic Mechanical Transmission (AMT) and Matlab/Simulink to construct the shifting model and establish a real vehicle running test, while using the advanced PID control algorithm to work out the problem of the shifting mechanism in the process of shifting latch, or even off the file. The innovation of this research is that these control strategies do effectively improve the quality of AMT transmission shift, thus facilitating the development of pure electric bus shift with a much smoother and rapid effect.
