Motor drive system has an important role in modern industrial production, it is developing towards high-precision, wide speed range and high-speed. Motor drive system which has position or speed sensors not only increase costs, reduce reliability, but also has strict requirements to the environment, that limites the use of the motor, so PMSM sensorless control has gradually become a hot research. This paper mainly studied PMSM sensorless control which based on reduced-order extended Kalman filter(REKF) algorithm which added attenuation factor and compensating function. In view of extended Kalman filter algorithm exists some problems, such as tedious calculation and poor real-time, this paper proposed REKF algorithm, it took state transition matrix reduce to third-order, simplified filter structure and improved computing speed, it combined with attenuation memory filter method selected attenuation factor, that effectively increased the speed of estimated rotor speed tracking the actual speed and further improved the tracking performance of the algorithm. This paper conducted speed and current compensation to estimated rotor angle, that improved the accuracy of estimated rotor angle. Finally, this paper built the control system model and S function, and verified feasibility and effectiveness of REKF algorithm which combined with attenuation memory filtering method and compensation function in the control system, seen from the simulation results, the system optimal attenuation factor s = 1.01.
