Typical L-shaped profiles are widely used in beam structures of thin wall and frame structures, in the finite element analysis of the L-shaped profiles single L-shaped cross section beams were usually use to model, and it exists certain errors the solid structure, so it is necessary to improve the modeling accuracy and computational efficiency for the study of the whole structure’s vibration characteristics.Firstly a typical L-shaped profile was modeled and analyzed by using two different solid elements, shell element and beam element, the model quality of ignoring chamfer and using single shell element and beam element model are not good, because the shell element model and beam element model can’t accurately simulate the chamfer’s shape. The equivalent shell element model was established by adding another shell-element-supporting “bridge” perpendicular to the “bridge”. For an unit length section, derived relevant parameters of the equivalent model using principles of structural mechanics according to the same deformation under dead load. Then the required thickNess parameters of the equivalent model were determined. The three-dimensional equivalent shell element model was established by using the parameters obtained through calculation, the first 51 order frequencies of the equivalent shell element model were obtained by frequency analysis. The frequency errors were compared between the equivalent model and the solid element model, the first 10 order modal frequency errors were controlled within 3%.The evolutionary structural topology optimization theory was studied stress analysis among several typical plane-stress beam structures, the finite element analysis and element deletion cycle repeated until it reaches steady state, to get the full stress structure. It provides a reference basis for further L-shaped profiles through the analysis of the topology optimization. The modeling method of bolted connection structures was studied based on the analysis of related parameters of L-shaped profile with bolted connection.
