Under-cutter plays an important role in the maintaining procedure of cutting mica-slots of commutator of a DC motor. There are some defects in traditional technologies for detecting and positioning mica-slots of a under-cutter: the speed of finding slot is slow, the precision of aiming at a slot is poor and inefficient. Manual intervention is necessary usually when detecting and positioning a mica-slot. Hence, the automatic process of under-cutter’s cutting has been limited by the traditional technologies. A system of under-cutter for detecting and positioning mica-slot is established by integrating a variety of technologies in this project, such as the technology of CCD sensor, the technology of AC-servo and the technology of micro-controller. It is more significant for implementing fast detecting and precise positioning mica-slot, and increasing the efficiency of under-cutter. There are primary contents contained in this thesis:In the first place, the present condition of the technology for positioning mica-slot is described, and its advantages or disadvantages are analyzed. A design scheme for the system of detecting and positioning mica-slot based on micro-controller STM32 of ARM is introduced. Its general block diagram is presented, and its operational principle is discussed in detail.In the next place, according to the condition of the lab, the key hardware components of the detecting and positioning mica-slot system is selected, such as CCD camera, the development board of STM32, touch-display screen module, AC-servo driver and servo motor, and so on. Circuit schematic is drawn, PCB are designed and manufactured, components are assembled and soldered.Next, software for corresponding function module are programmed by making use of development tool Real View MDK and library function of STM32. Bottom drivers of the system such as driver for touch-display screen, driver for servo, interrupt service routine for sampling signal of video, are implemented. The embedded real-time operation system kernel, μC/OS-II is transplanted for the system, and the tasks are divided in it. The embedded graphical user interface μC/GUI is also transplanted and programs for human-machine interface are completed in this project.Then, the software and hardware for detecting and positioning mica-slot system are cooperated. The experimental data recorded and calculated. The reason of errors are analyzed, and some suggestions are given for reducing errors.Finally, the thesis is summarized and the problem or shortcoming in this system are pointed. Further research for this project is prospected.
