As a vital component of future aeronautical communication system, aeronautical ad hoc networks have the characteristics of high efficiency, good flexibility and strong expandability, which attract extensive attention of international scholars. In related literatures, as one of the basic research subjects, network connectivity is the precondition of designing and implementing algorithms for routing, MAC and TCP. And it has important significance in planning base station, optimizing node power and controlling network topology. Currently, research on connectivity of aeronautical ad hoc networks based on route is mainly based on the model of single airline with one-way route or two-way route. But the researches on single airline with multiple routes and multiple airlines are less. Based on existing network model, connectivity of aeronautical ad hoc networks is further researched considering the flight characteristics of civil aircraft in line, and main works involve:① Derived the formula of node’s degree distribution, isolated probability and one hop connectivity probability of node on single airline with multiple routes in aeronautical ad hoc networks.Based on the assumption that the number of aircrafts on airline follows poisson distribution and using the additivity of poisson distribution, derived the formula of node’s degree distribution with the considering of the effect of boundary. Then get the node isolation probability and one hop connectivity probability.② Derived approximate formula of cluster coefficient of single airline with multiple routes in aeronautical ad hoc networks. Cluster coefficient describes the probability of neighbor nodes interconnecting with each other, and its value reflects the ability to node’s multi-hop connectivity to a certain extent. Use the characteristics that the position of aircraft on airline follows uniformly distribution under the assumption of poisson distribution, approximatively deduced the relationship between cluster coefficient of single airline with multiple routes in aeronautical ad hoc networks, the number of routes, height between two routes and communication radius.③ Proposed a calculation method of connectivity probability between the node on multiple airlines in aeronautical ad hoc networks and the base station. According to the characteristics of multiple airlines in aeronautical ad hoc networks, multiple airlines’ s connectivity analysis model is established.And on this basis, search all possible paths from node to the base station and represent the presence of different paths with different events.Finally,combining with the addition formulas in probability theory,find the probability that at least one event occur.This probability is also the connectivity probability between node and base station.④ Do simulation and verify the formula of node degree distribution, node isolation probability, single hop connectivity probability and cluster coefficient, under the environment of single airline with multiple routes in aeronautical ad hoc networks. In the environment of multip airlines in aeronautical ad hoc networks, the calculation method of connectivity probability between the node on multiple airlines in aeronautical ad hoc networks and the base station that proposed by this article is designed and implemented. The simulation results show that this method can accurately estimate the connectivity probability between any node on the airline and the base station. At the same time, the impact of base station to the connectivity probability is analyzed by adjusting the position and the number of base stations.
