Investigation And Research Of Space Utilization Under Riverside Viaducts In Central City Of Chongqing

Along with the rapid development of cities, the contradiction between the population and land resources is more and more prominent, so intensive and efficient utilization of urban space becomes a kind of inevitable trend, and therefore the space which has not been fully use presents the great potential of being transformed into multifunctional composite space. As the subsidiary of urban public transport facilities, the space under viaducts which was full of randomness between the design phase and imperfect management mechanisms after the completion of the project, results in a waste of space as while as a variety of social problems. The riverside viaducts of Chongqing take into account the requirements of flood control aspect on the premise of traffic function, with the result that the linear continuous structures with lack of precise design becoming the main compositional elements of the riverside interface, greatly influence the overall view of the city. Therefore, rational use of the space under the riverside viaducts in Chongqing has very great significance for all aspects such as society, economy, landscape and so on. This article attempts to opt for the space under riverside viaducts as the research object, starting from the on-site survey and spatial analysis, combined with the characteristics of beautiful mountains and rivers, and then put forward some reasonable principles and strategies of the use of the space under the riverside viaducts in Chongqing.Firstly, with an overview of analysis of seven riverside roads in the central district of Chongqing, the evolution is summarized as four different stages. Then select four of the riverside road of urban area as the research scope, survey its flood control standard and the function of land use, sum up the two ways of connection between riverside roads and the ground through the analysis of road section, and then draw the distribution of viaducts within the research scope. Additionally, discuss the positive and negative effects of the riverside viaducts on the city, while analyze the future trends of the development of the viaducts.Then the article analyses the effect factors of the use of the space under the riverside viaduct, including the related laws, regulations and policies, master planning, space ownership, geographical environment, urban area environment, space form, the view and so on. So when to use the space under riverside viaducts, we must grasp the factors comprehensively, and exert its special advantage to achieve the space transformation of the city.The next part relates to the investigation and research of the space utilization under the riverside viaducts of the central district of Chongqing, and analyzes the function orientation, space form, landscape effect and the management aspect of the forty-five cases that already exist, and then sums up the current problems of the space use under the riverside viaducts.Finally based on the above analysis of space characteristics and the current use of the space under the viaducts, and combining with the beautiful mountains and rivers, the article puts forward some principles of the utilization of the space under the viaducts, integrity, security, and accessibility included, and proposes the concrete strategies of the use of the space under the viaducts from the aspects of function, space, landscape and implement operation, in order to arouse the attention, enrich related research, and thus help to related design practice.
