Firstly, research background, research status, structural characteristics and advantages of small size switched reluctance wind power generator system are introduced in this paper. Then the advantages of DC micro-grid compared with AC micro-grid are analyzed, and the construction of DC micro-grid system based on switched reluctance generator is given.Secondly, the flux linkage data of three-phases switched reluctance generator with 12/8 structure on four important rotor position are measured experimentally. Then flux linkage equation, voltage equation, motion equation and torque equation are given, and the modules of these equations are building in Matlab/Simulink. The simulation and experimental results show the accuracy of the model, it can be used for subsequent analysis.Thirdly, the linear model of switched reluctance generator is used to qualitative analysis of winding current, and nonlinear simulation model is used to quantitative analysis of winding current, then the method of limiting peak of phase current is given. And, the steady-state operating point is analyzed in the nonlinear model.Fourthly, the component of switched reluctance generator system is introduced; the maximum power point tracking method based on rotor speed disturbance is analyzed in detail. In order to achieve power balance, maximum power point tracking and voltage loop are combined. Then program flows of control strategy are given for the controller with the core of TMS320F28335.Finally, simulation model is used to verify the feasibility of the control strategy, and experiments are demonstrated in the prototype experiment platform. The simulation and experimental results show that the maximum power point tracking method can quickly achieve maximum wind energy capture, and stability when the wind velocity changes. Under the premise to ensure the stability of the DC bus voltage, the power balance control method can achieve maximum utilization of wind energy.
