The research of structure responses under blast loading in civil engineering field has a long time, but the research contents and achievements concentrate in military field in early times, research in civil field is rare, after the 9.11 Incident the international anti-terrorism situation is gradually severe, so it becomes more important and urgent to do research of structure responses under blast loading in civil engineering. Large span space structures are very important in the field of civil construction, because they are primarily as a landmark or important public buildings to use, such as convention centers, lounges, sports stadiums, etc., so they are quite probable to become the target of terrorist activities; Because of its personnel-intensive, once they suffered terrorist attacks the property damage and loss will become more severe. Therefore the antiknock research of the large-span spatial structure has important theory and practical applicatiuon significance.AUTODYN software is developed by American Century Dynamics Corporation in 1985, from the development of the software it is commit to find a better method to do the simulation analysis of the problem of explosion. Now it has achieved a leading position in the industry. This article introduces the AUTODYN software to the explosion response analysis of span spatial structures for the first time. Firstly, verified its accuracy in near-field and far-field explosion analysis, Secondly, simulated the 20 m span K8 single-layer reticulated domes under external blast loads by using AUTODYN, compared the impact of different roof constitutive models for the structural responses, explored the basic law of the load transmission and structural responses, and do a large scale parametric analysis on the responses of the 40 m span K8 single-layer reticulated domes under external blast loads. Finally, discussed the applicability of CONWEP software for the analysis of single-layer reticulated domes subjected to external blast loading by using the empirical formula and AUTODYN. Research contents include following four parts:Established a two-dimensional slab model by using AUTODYN, verified its accuracy in simulation of near-field explosion; Established 40 m single-layer reticulated dome models and calculated implosion responses by using AUTODYN, verified its accuracy in simulation of far-field explosion.Through the contrast of different examples the accuracy of AUTODYN in simulation of large span space structures has been proved.Established 20 m span K8 single-layer reticulated domes and conducted response analysis under the external blast loading by using AUTODYN. Compared the impact of different roof constitutive models for the structural responses, obtained the laws of load spread and structural responses under external blast loading.Established 40 m span K8 single-layer reticulated domes with span ratio of fifth, conducted the response analysis under the external blast loading by using AUTODYN. Through the analysis of TNT equivalent, explosive horizontal distance, explosive height from the ground, span, span ratio, rod cross-section, roof loads, examined the structural responses and failure models of K8 single-layer reticulated domes under external blast loading.Respectively using AUTODYN and CONWEP analysis the responses of 20 m span K8 single-layer reticulated domes under external blast loading in a variety of scaled distances, discussed the blast loading calculating applicability of CONWEP for the analysis of single-layer reticulated domes subjected to external blast loading by using the empirical formula and AUTODYN; discessed the structural responses calculating applicability of CONWEP for the analysis of single-layer reticulated domes subjected to external blast loading by using AUTODYN.
