The security level of aviation tools are concerned significantly as to the highly developed aero-space traffic industry. In the study area of the strength of aircraft, the bird strike resistance has been an important subject that cannot be ignored. Under the circumstance that the study of bird strike has been slowed down due to the limitation of experimental condition and numerical computation methods, and that there is still a big gap between the research in China and in west countries, the purpose of this dissertation is to supply a new thought able to create a connection of the experimental data and the simulation results. This paper started with the introduction of some theoretical results based on the bird strike researches. Refer to the recipe in other papers, gelatin was made into the dummy birds to be launched as the projectiles in bird strike experiments. Three kinds of target panels including 5A06, LY12 and 2024 aluminum alloy panels were chosen to be typical aircraft materials mounted in the target box. Three high speed cameras were utilized to capture the process of bird strike and to gather the core information of the experimental datas. The details of the experiments were introduced in this paper. The Digital Image Correlation technology(DIC) were the main data process method in this paper. Its basic principle and operation approach were presented. The comparison between the final bump depth and the DIC processing results were plotted to verify the accuracy of the DIC method. The displacement datas followed the theoretical study and showed a regularly trend. As to the influence of boundary condition in the experiment, DIC offers an explanation and are confirmed by the computation.Gelatin’s material parameters are needed to model the bird projectiles in the simulation. Yet the related discussion has not been standardized, it was complicated to get the gelatin’s parameter of equation of state. In this dissertation, a neural network system was created to inversely calculate the parameter from the known target panels’ data and the experimental results. The effectiveness of the Matlab program was proved by comparing the simulation output and the measured value.
