The underground powerhouse is a relatively closed space. And ventilation and air conditioning system plays a critical role in the equipment and people working environment. It supports sufficient fresh air for people, and regulates temperature and humidity for equipment operation. At the same time, it can exhaust hot and humid air out of the powerhouse to protect worker and equipment. So ventilation and air conditioning system is an indispensible part in the whole building.In the Eleventh Five-Year Plan and Twelfth Five-Year Plan, the State Council suggested that we should persist in the principle of low energy consumption strength, main pollution emissions reduction, and energy consumption control. In the building energy consumption,the ventilation and air conditioning system always uses lots of energy, almost 50%~65%. The same situation occurred in the underground powerhouse, especially in some hydro-power stations. While energy conservation is always neglected in this energy supply sources, which is opposite to our country aim that building a conservation-minded society. So it is necessary to analyze the delivery of the air conditioning system in the underground powerhouse.As one kind of underground powerhouse, pumped storage power station is in the stage of vigorous development, and has the significance of the representative. In this paper, the characteristics of underground delivery room and its ventilation air conditioning system are summarized through literature review. The air flow organization of ventilation air conditioning system is described in detail, and the theoretical heat dissipation of the factory house is 1381 k W(2 units running). The average of the actual heat dissipation(considering the natural cooling of the transport hole) is 1147 k W, which is calculated by the calculation of the actual data from the field test data, and the theoretical heat dissipation is found to run well.The average energy efficiency of the comprehensive energy efficiency ratio is 3.4(considering the natural cooling of the transportation hole), and the energy efficiency of the whole ventilation air conditioning system is quite high. Analysis of the operating data of the air conditioning system and energy saving calculation of the pump, and the energy saving rate of the cooling water pump and the chilled water pump are about 30% and 48.8%, and has huge economic benefit.
