Hydropower station powerhouse structure is an important part of the hydropower project and comprehensive engineering facilities which can convert the hydro-energy to the energy electricity. With the development of the hydro-electrical in China, the scale of the hydropower station is increasing and its importance is becoming more and more prominent. When the hydroelectric generating set is running, vibration is produced inevitably. In the meantime, it not only directly affect the vibration of its supporting structure, but also can cause the whole powerhouse structure vibrated so that the unit to shut down. Especially the underground powerhouse of the large-scaled station, the vibration energy than conventional power plants is more outstanding. The corresponding research in the design and construction process of the corresponding research is needed, taking effective measures to try to prevent the occurrence of the vibration in operations of the workshop, so that the loss is reduced to a minimum as far as possible.After the large-scaled hydropower station was operating, there has been a strong vibration and noise, equipment safety and personnel’s health has been hidden dangers. As a result, the vibration of the underground powerhouse of the large-scaled hydropower station was investigated. Taking the hydropower station as an example, the finite element method was applied to calculate the dynamic characteristics of the main factory building and analysis the reason of the powerhouse vibration and study measures to reduce vibration. The main works of this paper are as follows:(1) Three-dimensional finite element model of the whole underground powerhouse consisted of two hydroelectric generating sets is simulated. In addition, analyzes the vibration source frequency of the pumped-storage power station in underground powerhouse, which is caused by hydraulic, mechanical and electrical.(2) The natural vibration characteristics of the whole underground powerhouse structure and local structure were studied by the mode analysis. According to the results of natural vibration frequency and vibration frequency, checking the result of resonance. Preliminary analysis of the causes of the station is produced strong vibration.(3) By using the method of Harmonic Response Analysis, calculating the vibration response of the main factory building and analyzing the change rules with the frequency of pulsating pressure reaction under the action of the pulsating pressure from spiral volute and water turbine, and calculate the vibration response of each part under the action of the pulsating pressure from the water turbine according to the test dates. Analyzing the cause of strong vibration produced the factory and studying the reduction measures.
