Integrated Application Of Curtain Wall Engineering Based On BIM

The shape of building is increasingly complicated now and future, as one of the priority type of building envelope structure, curtain wall has developed a more complicated and diversified trend. Based on two-dimensional drawing expression of technology solutions and management method, it’s hard to sufficient to meet complicate curtain wall project. For the reason, mainly because of the information loaded by traditional two-dimensional drawing or plan will easily loss, and lead to Information Island when information interact in different specialized section and project stages. Once the occurrence of misunderstanding and misjudgment of project information, are more likely to increase the risk of the project life cycle, and cause unnecessary losses. Thus,in design, construction, manufacture and project operation stages, some mega complex curtain wall project introduce BIM technology, as information integrated application of each project stage, and coordinate with related specialized section, in order to solve the problem of all aspects of the project connection failure, poor transmission of information and other outstanding issues.As a new Information management method and application of tools, BIM(Building Information Modeling) has aroused more and more attention of experts, scholars and engineers in AEC(Architecture, Engineering and Construction) industry. BIM integrate parameterized design, collaborative, visual management, construction simulation information management technology, that is urgent needed to control the construction and engineering information digitally in project’s lifecycle in today’s AEC industry, and promoting the comprehensive benefit of project.This paper based on the existing theory, standards, a systematic investigation and study, and its research results as BIM implementation framework of technical guidance. Secondly, based on real project cases, this paper will take research and analysis on the disadvantages of technical system, project management mode in china’s curtain wall engineering, and reveals the key issue due to technical and management problems in mega complex curtain wall project. Finally, combined with the advantages of BIM technology and its advanced concepts, the typical complex curtain wall project case will be researched and developed in its integrated application based on BIM, and the technological route will be designed on its aspects of design, construction technology, and project management, and provide effective solutions.For the further system optimization of current building curtain wall products, design collaboration, process optimization, BIM technology team building, as well as aspects of the operation of project and the curtain wall engineering information integration between each link. This paper carried out the specific process design and technical route research on introducing BIM technology of curtain wall project, and demonstrated the application of BIM in its adaptation and reliability, to ensure that the BIM technology is operational from the curtain wall engineering design, construction, project delivery and project operation, and to promote engineering technology, project implementation, operation management and other aspects improvement.
