In order to cope with the pressure from energy and environment, governments are put forward increasingly strict requirements for the auto industry. People realize that the research and development of clean energy is the top priority. At present, many countries are in the development of clean energy vehicles. Air powered cars is one of them. The air-powered car known as the "green" car emerges at this moment, which turns the pressure potential energy of compressed gas into the kinetic energy of the engine. Our research group has completed the whole machine modification and sequential control of air intake and exhaust for the air powered engine. This paper is developed on the basis of the previous study. A concrete analysis of the influence of the parameters on the engine through simulation and experiment has been made, which provide a theoretical basis and experimental data for the aerodynamic optimization design of engine, which has an important theoretical significance and practical value to the development of air-powered engine. The research work is divided into the following chapters:1. The working principles and the energy loss of the air powered engine are analyzed and the overall structure of the engine is introduced.2. The engine to simulation analysis with VB program has been done. Then, the influences on the engine brought by the parameters as valve timing, intake air pressure, speed are analyzed, and the performance rules under the parameters above are obtained through the process.3. Engine test system is designed. The relevant test has been completed, and the accuracy of the test system is verified.4.The test data are analyzed. The effect of valve timing and inlet pressure on engine was analyzed, and the analysis results are compared with imitated result.
