With China’s rapid economic development, spatial structure has become one of the widely used structural forms. There is a variety of forms of bearings in spatial structure, the pin bearing are widely used because of its convenient construction, economical, simple structure, beautiful appearance and other characteristics. However, the current study focus contact problems of pin connection and mechanical properties of the local members, the study of pin bearing overall performance is still lacking. Especially for the new pin bearing, the existing research conclusions obviously cannot meet the needs of their development applications. The main contents are as follows:1、The vertical ultimate bearing capacity research of new bearing: the reasonableness of a simplified model of vertical stress analysis is verified through theoretical analysis, the reliability of theoretical basis is illustrated, simulation and experimental results. The paper study the vertical ultimate capacity of the new bearing through experiment and simulation, on the one hand to verify the reliability of the finite element, on the other hand to utilize finite element analysis results study the yield mechanism, failure mechanism and vertical ultimate bearing capacity further. The results show that the bearing has sufficient carrying capacity and safety reserve with significant plastic deformation, variety and geometry of steel is the key to control the ultimate bearing capacity, the bearing presents the characters of ductile failure under vertical compression.2、The horizontal ultimate bearing capacity research of new bearing: based on the rubber material constitutive laws and the stiffness calculation test results of annular rubber pads, the finite element model is established. The stress and deformation characteristics in the horizontal loads is studied through experiment and simulation. The reliability of the finite element is verified; the laws of loads transference and vertical ultimate bearing capacity is further studied. Analysis shows that, the bearing is in a stable state of stress and deformation under horizontal loads and has enough bearing capacity and deformation capacity, additionally the rubber pad stiffness is important factor affecting the ultimate bearing capacity.3、Hysteretic behavior research of bearings under repeated horizontal loads: draw the hysteresis curve through quasi-static test and research the characteristics of energy dissipation phased. Utilize the equivalent damping ratio to evaluate the energy dissipation capacity under repeated compression load. The results show that at different levels of load amplitude the hysteresis curve presents different characteristics, due to the unique viscoelasticity of rubber material, the bearing already has a better energy dissipation capacity when steel is in elastic stage4、Compare the the new and traditional pin bearings: they has close vertical performance. Rubber pads significantly affect the mechanical properties of the outer horizontal plane, since there is no presence of the conventional rubber pad, under the larger horizontal loads between ear plate prone to impact collision occurred broken, the new bearing has obvious advantage in energy consumption.
