The distributed generators has widespread application to solve the growing problem of environment. The distributed generators and network technology changes the original distribution network structure and power flow distributes. Power flow distribution relative to the site, capacity and size of distributed generators, the method based on the traditional orientation is no longer suitable for distribution network in active distribution network. The fault location method of active power distribution network is the key to clear fault quickly, restored health line and improve the reliability of power supply. In view of the active distribution network fault location, The main achievements involve the following aspects:(1) Analysis of the distributed power distribution network with the principle of fault location, and survey the active power distribution network fault location’s present situation;(2) According to phase to phase fault of distribution network with distributed generation, a method of current differential fault location based on delay correction synchronous sampling is presented. The basic principle is calculating the phasor of fault current by FFT algorithm using two terminal fault current of the line, to make it synchronization by delay correction and in differential calculation;(3) When phase to phase fault happens in distribution network with distributed generation, fault circuit amplitude supplied by system power and distributed generation have significant difference,the current differential method can not distinguish malfunction tegion and non-malfunction region.This paper put forward a phase difference method of current fault component, is calculating the phasor of fault current by FFT algorithm by sampling fault current component for two terminal of system at the fault time.(4) According to single-phase grounding fault of distribution network with distributed generation, a method of current fault transient component phase difference based on fault self-synchronization is presented through analyzing fault transient. The basic principle is calculating the phasor of transient current when circuit breakers detect fault component current to calculate the phasor of two terminal.(5) Using the electromagnetic transient simulation software PSCAD/EMTDC, it is verified by the simulation of single-phase grounding fault and phase to phase fault in distribution network with distributed generation.This paper put forward a method of current differential fault location based on the study of fault location of distribution network. It is verified the feasibility and validity of the method of current fault difference, current fault component phase difference, and current fault transient component phase difference by the simulation of PSCAD, and has great significance for the application of distributed generation in distribution network, to establish the foundation for further study.
